What captured the eye of the jurors in the projects category was the Hotel Santa Clara 1728, a renovation project by Manuel and Francisco Aires Mateus which concerned a building in Lisbon with a rich history, built over various periods in the past. Using the Marmorin Hydro and Visocalce Extra Fine products the two architects combined elements, atmospheres and diverse materials and enveloped them in an elegant atmosphere, simple and natural, where time seems to have stood still.

The decorative effect that ranked first was Alpstein Gold, created by the master decorator Jürgen Knopp using the Krakkle product. The decoration was applied to a luxury mountain hotel in Schwägalp and is in complete harmony with the interior and exterior environments, creating a stylised profile of the Swiss mountains with its continuous and sinuous linearity.

The two winners will receive a prize of an exciting trip to Tuscany, Italy, to be completed by next year.
