Conceived with the idea of celebrating the excellence and uniqueness of Viero products, but also to pay tribute to our customers whose commitment creates new objects of beauty every day, the contest has been very successful, involving architects, designers, engineers, interior designers, decorators, companies, artists and creative people coming from all over the world (from China to the United Arab Emirates, from India to Europe) who took part, presenting dozens and dozens of top-quality works.
A melting pot of creativity that made the work of the jury very difficult. Composed of Viero experts, the jury was given the delicate task of analysing the different interpretations of the products and choosing a winner for both the sections that the prize was divided into: the one section dedicated to projects and the other to decorative textures.
In the end, what captured the eye of the jurors in the projects category was the Hotel Santa Clara 1728, a renovation project by Manuel and Francisco Aires Mateus which concerned a building in Lisbon with a rich history, built over various periods in the past. Using the Marmorin Hydro and Hydro Protection products the two architects were inspired by the very soul of the Portuguese city, combining elements, atmospheres and diverse materials and enveloping them in an elegant atmosphere, simple and natural, where time seems to have stood still.
The decoration was applied to a luxury mountain hotel in Schwägalp and is in complete harmony with the interior and exterior environments, creating a stylised profile of the Swiss mountains with its continuous and sinuous linearity, creating an elegant atmosphere that is at the same time particularly warm and welcoming due to the colour choices from the gold palette.
The two winners will receive a prize of an exciting trip to Italy, to be completed by next year.
Viero Paints will host them for two nights in the Nipozzano Castle, a spectacular fortress set among the vineyards of the Chianti Rufina area in Tuscany, on the mountainous slope overlooking the Arno river valley. A unique experience to get in touch with the ancient heart of this area and sense the values tied to tradition, beauty, exquisiteness, nature and Italianness that are the lifeblood from which Viero Paints draws inspiration.
